40 Forty Project – Project #1: Lights on St. Paul
Overview:
Klenda, Mitchell, Austerman & Zuercher, LLC marks its 40th anniversary in 2011. As we reflect upon our success and longevity, we owe a deep debt of gratitude to the community that has played a substantial role in our growth and development. Accordingly, to celebrate this grand anniversary, we, as a firm, have committed to completing 40 acts of service to give back to the community that has supported us.
KMAZ’s goal during 2011 is to obtain participation in at least one event by every member and employee. We hope each will find at least one event in which to participate to help us achieve our end goal of 40 acts of service. While we will feature at least one firm organized charitable event each month, we will also specifically highlight the activities of individuals who quietly contribute to charities, church groups, non-profit organization or other groups in their communities. It is an opportunity for our employees and attorneys to bring attention to causes to which they are dedicated. We will celebrate both our anniversary and meeting our goal in December 2011 with the “KMAZ Firm Open House.”

Project #1: The Lights on St. Paul benefiting The Arc of Sedgwick County
The Arc of Sedgwick County is a not-for-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities including Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy, and Cerebral Palsy. The Arc’s largest single fundraiser, The Lights on St.Paul, helps the organization do its work of serving the needs of over 7,000 local individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Admission to the light show is free but donations are accepted. Each year the light display requires the assistance of many volunteers to accept donations, direct traffic and hand out informational flyers. This year, Klenda Austerman LLC has committed to providing all of the necessary volunteers for each Wednesday night before Christmas in the month of December (1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd). We have already completed two (2) of these nights with great success and a wonderful showing of employees!
