Merrick Garland

Last week President Obama named Merrick Garland as his first Supreme Court justice nominee. If confirmed, Judge Garland would fill the vacancy left by the untimely death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Despite the controversy surrounding President Obama’s attempt to appoint a justice in an election year, and the Republican senators outspoken refusal to hold hearings, we think it’s important to get to know Judge Garland a little better. According to CBS news, Garland has more federal judicial experience than any other Supreme Court nominee in history. Might he be the one nominee the Republican senators are compelled to hear from before the presidential election?
