Mike Morris is an attorney and member in the Wichita office at Klenda Austerman LLC where he oversees and administers the liquidations of assets in hundreds of bankruptcy cases each year. Since 1978, when the United States Bankruptcy Code was revised to create the U.S. Trustee Program, an attorney at Klenda Austerman has served as a private panel bankruptcy case trustee. Michael became a trustee for cases filed under Chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in 1984.
Aside from serving as a bankruptcy trustee, Mike’s practice includes representing individual and corporate debtors and creditors in complex bankruptcy cases. Every new case or client presents different issues to analyze and Morris has years of experience finding resolutions for individuals and businesses in Chapter 11 cases. He approaches each case with creativity, while remaining ordered in his approach. For years, Morris has represented corporate debtors with successful reorganization under Chapter 11, and he has served as counsel for unsecured creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 cases.
Mike is a frequent presenter on bankruptcy-related topics at legal seminars at the local, regional and national level. He has presented at seminars hosted by the Wichita Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mike Morris is also a chapter author of two editions of the Kansas Bankruptcy Handbook, published by the Kansas Bar Association.
Outside of bankruptcy law, some of Michael’s personal interests include the study of history, literature and science.
